Scottsboro Boys

On a train from Chattanooga to Memphis, Tennessee nine African- American teens were arrested for the rapes of two Caucasian females, Victoria Price and Ruby Bates. The news of the nine boys quickly traveled to Scottsboro, Alabama were their trail would soon take place. Eight of the boys; Haywood Patterson, Charles Weems, Clarence Norris, Andy Wright, Ozzie Powell, Alen Montgomery, Roy Wright, and Willie Roberson were all convicted of rape and sentenced to death due to poor legal representation . The Alabama Supreme Court affirmed seven of the eight convictions, and granted thirteen year old Eugene Williams a new trial because he was a juvenile.

The case laterly started a national controversy when Ruby Bates admitted that she and her friend, Victoria Price had fasley accused the boys of rape.

Victoria Price and Ruby Bates

These epic story has been turned into a powerful Broadway musical, in which the nine boys tell the side of the story that was never told- THEIRS.

The State of My Current Twist-Out

So this week was a crazy week for me, I didn't have school on Monday. Went Tuesday for the start of second semester. Wednesday had a snow day. Thursday went to a funeral. And today had to do something for my cousins case. This hole time I keep my low maintenance curls in check....except for one.

No matter what I did all week...this one curl would not leave the middle of my forehead.
I don't know if it was the fact that it was just irritating or that it was the only one like this but it took some time to get used to. These were taking last night just because I want you guys to see my random forehead curl.

At my cousins house today.

Snow Blizzard

So last night we had our first snow blizzard of this winter. We got about 2 1/2 to 3 feet of snow. It was crazy when I woke up this morning.

This is our front door!
When I opened our door...it was practically in our house.

This is our front porch...

Our front lawn.... scary right

My grandma's boyfriend and our neighbor... as you can see it's almost as tall as my neighbors snow blower.

The walk way finally plowed, took three people to get this done.

The snow is taller then my Ugg Boots and I own the tall ones

As you can see it was past my grandma's knees...

All I know is later on I am going to make the best Snow Man and Snow Angels this world has ever seen.
Can you imagine how much fun a snow ball fight would be in this... think I might call the girls.
